Booster Club

Mission Statement:

The Staples Girls Soccer Booster Club goal is to help fund the difference of the Board of Education funding and what it takes to build a Championship Program. The Booster Club is a volunteer organization that supports the GSOCC program by running fundraisers and team building events throughout the year.

Program FAQs

Can a player be rostered on multiple teams?

Yes, there will be certain players who will play both Freshman and JV, and some players who will be dual rostered on both JV and Varsity

How do the players get to practice?

Players will walk from Staples to Wakeman after school for practice and games.

Final Forms:  Must complete to try out

All players must register with Staples High School in order to try out and compete on a high school team, this goes for Freshman, JV, and Varsity.

  • Registration is good for one calendar year

Grade 8 WSA
Town Travel (WSA)

8th grade Westport Soccer Association teams are coached by Barry, and players get to learn the Staples system of girls soccer.

Grade 9 
Freshman Team

Full season for only 9th grade players. G me days are usually on separate days from the JV and Varsity games.

Grades 9-12
JV and Varsity

Some players may be dual rostered.  Games are usually held on the same day and time.

What gear is required?

All players must have both blue and white Staples Soccer t shirts for summer training and preseason.

How are skill levels determined?

Initial assessment during the first week places athletes in focus groups that match their current technical ability.

What are the concepts and goals of Staples Girls  Soccer

Our curriculum is designed to master technical fundamentals, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning. We focus on high-tempo transition play, individualized ball-control skills, and team chemistry drills that transition players from youth levels to competitive high school rosters.

When is the 2026 Season Schedule?

The core season runs from early September through mid October, followed by league and state playoffs. Pre-season conditioning starts in July, with tryouts typically held in late August. Detailed game schedules including home and away dates will be provided to registered athletes by early summer.

What are the program logistics and facility details?

Training sessions are held at Wakeman B Turf and PJ Romano Field. Athletes are expected to provide their own cleats and shin guards; practice kits and team equipment are provided. Transportation to away games is coordinated by the program via bus transport.

How do I enroll in the program?

Registration is open through our online portal. Select your specific age-group program, submit the required medical waivers, and complete the registration fee to secure your spot for the upcoming season or clinics.
